Approach and anchoring
Approach through Salem harbour. The marina monitors VHF channel 9 and takes day visitors for lunch and dinner on a first-come basis without a reservation. Harbour office on 978 210 4584.
Practical
100 berths with 10 set aside for transient boats, taking sail and power craft to 120 feet. 50 and 30 amp shore power, good water pressure, wifi, showers, heads and laundry. Berthing runs 4.25 dollars a foot on weekdays and 5.00 dollars at weekends.
Ashore
The marina sits at Pickering Wharf, a waterfront block of shops and restaurants. The Peabody Essex Museum is about 700 metres away, and the Salem Maritime National Historic Site lies just east along Derby Street.
