Approach and anchoring
Enter the North East River from the upper Chesapeake, about 7 nautical miles north of Turkey Point. Fresh water, well sheltered. The basin lies off Grandview Avenue in the town of North East.
Practical
Around 200 wet berths, 31 of them covered, with transient space. Max LOA 70 feet. Fuel berth, bait and tackle shop, and a yard with certified engine, fibreglass and canvas technicians. Hauling and winter storage for over 400 boats ashore.
History
The yard was started in 1929 by Dick McDaniel and bought by Tom Trainer in 1954. It remains one of the long-established working yards on the upper bay.
