Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Golfe de la Napoule between Île Sainte-Marguerite and Île Saint-Honorat. Watch the seabed: sand mixed with posidonia patches, so drop on clear sand to hold and to respect the protected meadows. Sheltered from SW through S to SE; exposed to the mistral from N and to easterly swell.
Practical
No services on site. Sainte-Marguerite landing pontoon lies 0.6 nm W and Port des Moines 0.9 nm S for a tender run ashore. Cannes marinas are within 3 nm on the mainland for fuel and provisions.
Ashore
Île Sainte-Marguerite is a Natura 2000 site covered by umbrella pine and eucalyptus forest. Fort Royal, on the island's north shore, held the Man in the Iron Mask from 1687 to 1698 and now houses the Musée de la Mer. A signposted coastal path loops the island in about 2 hours from the débarcadère.
