Approach and anchoring
Reached from the Côte Sauvage along the south shore of the island. Approach with care as the seabed is covered with eelgrass which reduces holding. Anchor clear of the weed patches to find sand. Exposed to the S and SW swell, untenable in southerly weather.
Practical
Unequipped mooring. Port-Joinville lies 2 nm NE with all services: capitainerie, fuel berth, chandlery, supermarket. Fromentine ferry terminal 15,2 nm NE on the mainland.
Ashore
The GR 80 coastal path crosses the south cliffs of the island, leading west to the Vieux Château, a 14th century fortress built by the Harpedane family, and east to Port de la Meule, a small fishing cove with the Notre-Dame-de-la-Bonne-Nouvelle chapel above it.
