Approach and anchoring
Mill Creek is entered from the Patuxent River at Solomons by one of two approach channels, from the south or from the east. The creek has good holding in mud and shelter from every direction. A 6-knot speed limit applies year-round in the Leason Cove section.
Practical
Wards Marine Railway is 0.6 nm to the west and Calvert Marina at Solomons 1 nm to the south-west. Mill Creek has no public marina of its own but offers more than half a dozen places to anchor, including spots on its tributary St Johns Creek.
