Approach and anchoring
Straightforward approach from open water with no off-lying dangers. Anchor outside the bathing zones marked by yellow buoys in season. Holding on sand is reliable. The anchorage is protected from N and NW, the dominant Tramontane wind, but fully exposed to any southerly swell.
Practical
No services on the beach. The port à sec du Cap d'Agde lies 0.9 nautical miles SW and Port Ambonne 0.9 nautical miles W, both on the Cap d'Agde marina complex. Water, fuel and chandleries are available there.
Ashore
Sandy beach directly ashore with seasonal bars and restaurants along the seafront. The étang de Thau oyster beds and the old fishing harbour of Marseillan village are about 4 km inland by road. Canal du Midi terminus at Les Onglous, 5 km W, marks the Mediterranean end of the 17th-century canal.
