Approach and anchoring
Manchester Harbour opens off Massachusetts Bay between Gloucester and Salem. The club stands at Tucks Point on the east side of the harbour, immediately inside the entrance. Most boats lie on moorings reached by club launch.
Practical
A private club founded in 1892, with a fleet of over 300 boats and an active racing and junior sailing programme. Visiting yachtsmen are received through the club. Manchester town centre and the commuter rail station are a short walk away.
History
Manchester Yacht Club was founded in 1892 and debuted on the water in 1895, after 1890s dredging opened the harbour to larger vessels. Club members have twice won the Seawanhaka Cup.
