Approach and anchoring
Access only around high water. The harbour dries completely at low water, with keelboats taking the ground on mud and sand. Entry is marked by a pair of jetty heads with red and green lights. Avoid the rocky shelves extending west of the entrance. VHF 9 for the harbourmaster.
Practical
About 300 berths, most for local boats on drying moorings. Water and electricity on the pontoons, fuel is not available on site. Small chandlery and a boatyard with slipway and crane. Shops and bakery in the village at roughly 400 m.
Ashore
Coastal path GR 34 passes above the harbour and leads to Pointe Saint-Gildas at about 2 km, with Second World War bunkers and a marine observatory. Sandy beach of Port Giraud at 600 m. Market in La Plaine-sur-Mer on Thursday morning.
