The anchorage lies off the Friday Harbor breakwater, where holding is on weed over mud, so check the anchor is well set. Sheltered from NW, W and SW winds, exposed to ferry and vessel wakes from the channel. The San Juan Island Yacht Club lies 0.3 miles S and the town marina is close by for fuel, water and provisions.
Ashore
Friday Harbor is the main town of San Juan Island, with shops, restaurants and the ferry terminal at the head of the harbour. The American Camp Trail runs 7 miles south to San Juan Island National Historical Park and South Beach, the longest public beach in the islands.
