Approach and anchoring
Open approach from the gulf of Ajaccio, keep clear of the harbour entrance traffic to the north. Sand bottom, good holding once set. Exposed to winds from S and SE, protected from the Libeccio from NW and W by the Aspretto headland.
Practical
Water point ashore. Dinghy landing at the Dingy Dock 0.1 nm to the N. Port Charles Ornano at 0.2 nm offers fuel, electricity, sanitaires and a chandlery.
Ashore
Ajaccio old town and the Maison Bonaparte museum, birthplace of Napoleon in 1769, lie about 800 m north along the seafront. Place Foch market every morning except Monday. The Îles Sanguinaires road leads west to Pointe de la Parata, 12 km by road.
