Approach and anchoring
Approach from the Gulf of Ajaccio keeping clear of the marked swimming area close to the beach. Sand bottom, good holding in clear patches. Shelter from NW, N, NE and W; exposed to SW and S winds, which build a sea directly into the bay when the libeccio blows.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Water, fuel, berths and provisioning 0.9 NM NE at Port Tino Rossi in central Ajaccio; dinghy landing at Dingy Dock 1.3 NM NE.
Ashore
Maison Bonaparte, birthplace of Napoleon, and the 16th century cathedral of Ajaccio are within 500 m of the Port Tino Rossi tender landing. Daily market on Place Foch every morning except Monday. Musee Fesch, second largest collection of Italian paintings in France after the Louvre, at 600 m from the old port.
