Approach and anchoring

Enter between Petit and Grand Logoden from the north or south depending on the tide. The Gulf runs strong tidal streams up to 8 knots at the Port-Navalo narrows, so plan the approach near slack water. Sheltered from all wind directions thanks to the surrounding islands of the Gulf.

Practical

Day anchorage, no facilities on the islets which are private and landing is restricted. Arradon is 0.7 nm west with a slipway, shops and restaurants in the village. Cale du Beluré on Île aux Moines is 0.9 nm SE with a dinghy landing.

Ashore

Arradon village at 0.7 nm has a bakery and small supermarket within 300 m of the slipway. Île aux Moines, Brittany's largest island inside the Gulf, is reachable by dinghy from the Cale du Beluré, with a coastal path running its 7 km perimeter.

History

The Gulf of Morbihan holds one of Europe's densest concentrations of Neolithic megaliths, including the Gavrinis cairn 2.5 nm south, dated around 3500 BC and decorated with engraved slabs.
