Approach and anchoring
Approach from the SE to stay clear of the rocks and drying heads off the north and west shores. Rock holding, poor for chain. Shelter from NW and N only. Uncovered rocks extend well offshore; consult SHOM chart 7033 before closing the island.
Practical
No facilities. In any southerly weather, fall back to Piriac-sur-Mer at 3,4 NM SE or Port de Lérat at 4,3 NM SE.
Ashore
The island is a classified bird reserve managed by Bretagne Vivante, with landing restricted during the breeding season from 15 March to 31 August. Ruins of a Vauban-era fort built in 1756 dominate the summit. No commerce, no water, no waste facilities.
