Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the west in open water. The island is marked by a lighthouse at its summit. Bottom is rock with scattered sand pockets, holding is uneven so check your set. Exposed except to easterlies, leave at the first sign of swell from the south or west.
Practical
Forain anchorage with no services. Saint-Pierre des Embiez lies 0.9 nautical miles east, Le Brusc 1.7 nautical miles east for provisioning and fuel.
Ashore
Landing is restricted, the island is a protected natural site managed by the Conservatoire du littoral. The Grand Rouveau lighthouse, built in 1861, still stands at the summit.
History
The Grand Rouveau lighthouse was commissioned in 1861 to mark the western approach to the Embiez and the roadstead of Le Brusc.
