Approach and anchoring
From Lake Erie make for the Huron Harbor pierhead light at the end of the mile-long west pier, white pyramidal tower built in 1939. Enter the river between the piers and follow upstream about 1 nautical mile. Marina on the W bank at 944 Main Street. No tidal range, lake level varies seasonally.
Practical
Over 200 berths covered and uncovered for boats 6 to 13 metres, plus transient berths. Fuel berth near the entrance with petrol and diesel. Full-service yard for boats up to 20 tons, haul-out, winter storage. Drive-up, jet ski, fixed and floating docks.
Ashore
Downtown Huron 800 m N along Main Street with shops, bakery and restaurants. Huron Boat Basin park and amphitheatre at the river mouth, 1 km N, summer concert series. Huron Harbor Pier walkable to the 1939 lighthouse at its tip, 1.6 km from the marina.
