Guide

Approach and anchoring

Enter the bay from SE, between Punta di Capicciola to the north and Punta di Folaca to the south. Sand and weed bottom; moorings avoid anchor damage to the posidonia meadow. Good shelter from NW through SW; exposed from the SE when the marin blows. VHF 9 for the buoy operator. Porto-Vecchio lies 3.6 NM N for full refuge.

Practical

30 buoys, water available on the buoys. No fuel, no electricity on the field. Beach restaurants and a small shopping centre reachable by tender on the north beach.

Ashore

Plage de Santa Giulia, a 1.5 km arc of pale sand, is the main draw. Walking path around Punta di Capicciola to Plage de Carataggio at about 2 km. Porto-Vecchio old town and its Genoese citadel are 8 km by road.
