Approach and anchoring

Approach from the west with a clear sea-room. Sheltered from NE, E and SE winds coming off the Cap Corse ridge, fully exposed to the libeccio and any swell from the west. Bottom of sand with good holding, but leave at the first sign of wind backing to the south or west.

Practical

Forain anchorage with no services. A short shingle beach with a seasonal restaurant lies onshore. Centuri is the nearest port of refuge, 6 NM to the north around the cape. Santa Severa on the east coast is 6.2 NM over the ridge by road.

Ashore

The village of Barrettali, with the Romanesque church of San Pancraziu, is perched 300 m above the shore on the ridge road. The coastal path of the west coast of Cap Corse passes through Giottani and links the old marine hamlets of Minerviu and Canelle.
