Approach and anchoring

The Goulet de Fromentine runs strong tidal streams reaching 4 to 5 knots on springs. Entry should be taken near slack water or with a fair tide. The channel is buoyed and shifts with the sandbanks. The Pont de Noirmoutier has 18 m clearance at HW springs. VHF 9 for the harbourmaster.

Practical

Fishing and pleasure harbour with visitor pontoon inside the basin. Water and electricity on pontoons. Slipway and small boatyard. Shops, bakery and supermarket within 300 m. Ferry terminal for the Île d'Yeu on the adjacent quay.

Ashore

Passage du Gois, the tidal causeway to Noirmoutier, at about 6 km by road, passable only around low water. Forêt domaniale des Pays de Monts along the coast, with cycle paths to Notre-Dame-de-Monts. Sandy beach of La Grande Plage at 500 m.
