Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south-east across the Pertuis d'Antioche. The harbour dries at low water and is accessible around high water only. Maximum draught 1.95 m inside. Beware of strong tidal streams in the Pertuis and of the Aix mudbanks to the north-west.

Practical

60 visitor and resident berths under the Régie du Port de Fouras. Water and electricity on the pontoons. Shops, bakery and restaurants in Fouras village within 500 m of the harbour.

Ashore

Fort Vauban overlooks the harbour, built on a 15th century base and reworked by Vauban in 1689. Beach of the Grande Plage 300 m north. Ferries to the Île d'Aix leave from the Pointe de la Fumée 2 km north-west.
