Approach and anchoring
Approach from the W through the Rade des Basques, keeping clear of the oyster tables along the peninsula. The tidal stream runs strongly on both flood and ebb between Fouras and the Île d'Aix. VHF 9.
Practical
About 50 spaces on mud holding. Sheltered from SW, S and SE. Open to the N and W. Fouras Port Sud lies 1.5 NM SE, Rade de l'Île d'Aix 2.4 NM W as refuge options.
Ashore
Ferry terminal at the Pointe de la Fumée runs year-round to the Île d'Aix, roughly 20 minutes crossing. Coastal path around the Fouras peninsula past Fort Vauban. Village shops and market at Fouras around 2 km from the point.
