Approach and anchoring
Yard on the left bank at the river mouth, strong tidal streams up to 3 knots on the ebb. Maximum draught about 1 m for access to the slipway. Fouras Port Sud lies 2.5 nm to the north-west, Port Adhoc Soubise 2.6 nm to the south-east across the river.
Practical
Winter storage on adjustable steel cradles fitted to the hull, water and electric points on the hard, careening area compliant with environmental rules. Minor refit work carried out on site. Village shops of Port-des-Barques at 500 m: bakery, grocery, pharmacy.
Ashore
Passage à gué de l'île Madame, 1 km long and crossable two hours either side of low water, leads to the 78 ha island with its fort and its oyster beds. GR360 coastal path passes through the village. Rochefort and the Hermione replica frigate at 12 km by road.
