Practical
No services on this anchorage itself. Water available nearby. Closest harbour shelters are Les Quilles 1.6 NM east and Mèze 2 NM north-west.
Ashore
Mèze oyster and mussel farms sell direct on the quay. Walking loop around the lagoon shore from Mèze toward Bouzigues, about 4 km, passes the Musée de l'Étang de Thau dedicated to shellfish farming.
History
The Étang de Thau has been farmed for oysters and mussels since the 1920s, when the first tables were installed off Bouzigues. It is the largest shellfish farming lagoon in Occitanie at around 7 500 hectares.
