Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the main Thau channel keeping clear of the oyster tables marked by yellow withies. The étang is shallow, with pockets under 2 m near the shore. Mèze harbour sits just to the NW; Port à sec de Sète lies 2.5 nm east.
Practical
Sand holds well. Anchor clear of the oyster concessions, which are strictly private. Mèze town quays provide water and a short visitor stay; full services at the port.
Ashore
Village centre within 400 m of the quay with bakeries and a Thursday morning market on place des Tonneliers. Musée-parc des dinosaures et de la préhistoire 800 m inland. Shellfish tastings available directly from producers on the route de Bouzigues, 1 km north along the étang shore.
