Guide
Approach and anchoring
Coastal approach along the sandy lido of Sète between the town and the étang de Thau. Drop anchor on sand in 3 to 6 metres off the beach, clear of swimming zones marked by yellow buoys in summer. Exposure to the swell from the south, leave on a rising southerly breeze.
Practical
Quilles beach mooring at 0,3 NM west, Sète harbour at 1,3 NM east for water, fuel and full services. Shops, beach restaurants and the tramway stop within walking distance along the lido.
Ashore
Sète old town and Canal Royal at 1,3 NM east, with daily seafood market at Les Halles. Mont Saint-Clair rises to 175 m above the city and gives a panoramic view over the lido and the étang de Thau. Cimetière marin de Sète where poet Paul Valéry is buried, on the south flank of Mont Saint-Clair.
