Municipal marina inside Indiana Harbor at East Chicago, on the Indiana shore of Lake Michigan, with a fuel berth and visitor berths.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Lake Michigan through the Indiana Harbor and Ship Canal entrance, protected by a double breakwater that keeps the harbour calm. Vessels enter the outer harbour from the north. The Indiana Shoals run up to 5 miles offshore, with depths as shallow as 5 metres.
Practical
Berths take boats from 6 to 20 metres. There is a fuel berth with petrol and diesel, a pump-out, electricity, showers, laundry, winter storage and 24-hour security. A lakefront restaurant and a fishing pier sit on the marina harborwalk.
Ashore
The marina harborwalk has a playground, a splash pad and picnic shelters with grills. H2 Oh Water Rentals on site hires kayaks, paddle boards and personal watercraft.
