Approach and anchoring
Duncan Bay opens directly onto Lake Huron with no surge once inside. The marked approach channel carries a minimum depth of 8 feet, and the bay itself holds at least 13 feet.
Practical
Sand and weed bottom. Sheltered from the western, eastern and southern quarters. Duncan Bay Boat Club lies 0.5 mile west with 263 berths and a pump-out; Cheboygan County Marina is 1.6 miles west.
Ashore
Cheboygan State Park borders the east side of the bay, with sand beaches, hiking trails and the 19th-century Cheboygan Front Range light. Mackinac Island lies 14 miles north-west, and the North Channel cruising ground is 34 miles off.
