Guide
Approach and anchoring
Open water approach from Lake Huron, no tide. The basin sits behind a federal breakwater rebuilt by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Exposed to easterlies on the way in, the breakwater cuts swell once inside. Seasonal staffing from mid-May to early September.
Practical
Fifteen transient berths on fixed pontoons, fresh water, 30 and 50 A shore power, pump-out and a concrete launch ramp. Heads, showers, picnic tables and a dog run on shore. Clean Marina certified. No fuel berth, nearest diesel and petrol are at Rogers City 23 miles south.
Ashore
The Ocqueoc Falls, the largest waterfall in the Lower Peninsula, are 8 km inland on the Ocqueoc River. Quiet sand and pebble beach immediately outside the breakwater, no village within walking distance.
