Approach and anchoring
The Sapelo River runs strong tides, so allow extra scope for a range that can exceed 7 ft. Holding is good in mud. The spot lies open to winds and chop from NE and E.
Practical
No facilities at the anchorage. Fisherman's Lodge is 4.5 nm to the NW and Dallas Bluff Marina 4.6 nm to the NW for fuel and provisions. Carry stores aboard for this stretch of the Georgia ICW.
