Approach and anchoring
From the ICW, turn into Sapelo Sound then up the White Chimney River. 12 ft of water at low water alongside the floating docks. Roughly 10 minutes by road from Interstate 95 exit 58.
Practical
567 ft of floating aluminium dock for vessels up to 60 ft LOA and 20 ft beam. Shore power 20, 30 and 50 amp. Hot showers, restrooms, WiFi. Onsite campground.
Ashore
Fishing, crabbing and shrimping from the dock. Sapelo Island, with the R. J. Reynolds mansion and the Hog Hammock Gullah-Geechee community, is reachable by ferry from Meridian, north of Townsend. Blackbeard Island National Wildlife Refuge lies further out in the Sound.
