82-slip marina on the Cape Fear River at Southport, North Carolina, with quick access to the ocean, the ICW and the river.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the lower Cape Fear River, with deep approach water for the area. The marina takes vessels up to 102 feet and around 8 feet draught at low water. It sits next to the Bald Head Island mainland ferry terminal, so expect regular ferry traffic on approach.
Practical
Five berths kept for transient boats, the rest annual. Diesel and a pump-out service on the fuel berth. Harbourside building with showers, laundry and a small store. Transient crews and slipholders may use the swimming pool.
Ashore
Bald Head Island mainland ferry runs from the adjacent terminal, with a seasonal snack bar and toilets. Southport's historic centre and waterfront shops are about 2.5 miles by road.
