Approach and anchoring
Access via the Dordogne, strong tidal current on both flood and ebb up to 3 knots during spring tides. Time the approach near slack water. Watch for the mascaret tidal bore upstream during equinox tides.
Practical
Small river halt, no marina infrastructure. Used mainly as a stop on the way between the Gironde estuary and Libourne. Nearest services at Plagne 1.5 NM north or Port de Cavernes 2.1 NM south-east.
Ashore
Pont Eiffel de Cubzac, a rail viaduct designed by Gustave Eiffel's firm, visible from the river. Village centre with boulangerie and small shops about 1 km from the bank. Saint-André-de-Cubzac 3 km south with full services.
