Approach and anchoring
The bottom is rock and mud. Shelter covers the NW to SW arc, leaving the anchorage open to the south and east across the Sound. A breakwater marks the shoreline off the beach.
Practical
Ned Dimes Marina is 0.3 nm to the west with launch service to moorings at the river mouth, on VHF 11. Cedar Point Yacht Club lies 0.9 nm to the south-west.
Ashore
Compo Beach is a 29-acre town park with a long sand beach, a boardwalk, a playscape and a concession stand, within dinghy reach of the anchorage.
