Approach and anchoring
Enter the Coan from the Potomac near Lewisetta and follow the marked channel about 3 miles up to the narrows known as The Glebe. The river runs through farmland and offers good shelter once inside, with mud holding throughout.
Ashore
The shores are rural and given over to farmland and oyster grounds. The Slips marina lies 4.9 miles north-west and Point Lookout Marina 8.8 miles north-east.
