Approach and anchoring
From the Potomac, enter the Yeocomico River and follow the marked channel up to Kinsale. Deep-water approach throughout, with 10 ft minimum in the basin. Sheltered on all sides, a recognised hurricane hole on the lower Potomac.
Practical
About 90 berths for vessels up to 80 ft LOA, 24 ft beam and 10 ft draught. 30 A shore power, WiFi, renovated showers and heads, laundry, boat ramp and kayak rentals. Clubhouse, pool, tennis and pickleball court on the property. No fuel berth on site.
Ashore
Historic village of Kinsale at the head of the river, with the Kinsale Museum at 500 m covering the British raid of 1814. Westmoreland State Park and the Potomac River bluffs at 15 km by road. Northern Neck wineries within 25 km inland.
History
The site was a tomato cannery in the 1880s and was converted to a marina in 1956. It was bought back by the original family in 2020 and rebuilt as a marina and club.
