Anchorage in a cove off Smith Creek on the lower Potomac River, Maryland, with sand and mud holding.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Smith Creek opens off the north bank of the Potomac near Point Lookout. The approach channel runs deep but bends in a sharp S curve, so hold the marked line carefully. Once inside, Price Cove gives shelter from north through south-east. The cove stays open to winds from the south-west.
Practical
Anchorage only, no facilities on site. Point Lookout Marina lies about 3.5 nautical miles east with fuel, water and shore power, and BluHaven Piers is a similar distance to the east.
