Approach and anchoring
Open approach from the south and south-east. Sand throughout, good holding. Sheltered from NW through N and W to SW. Exposed to easterly and south-easterly winds which build a quick swell in this shallow bay. Port Chichoulet 0.6 NM to the NW for refuge.
Practical
No services at the mooring. Port Chichoulet marina 0.6 NM NW with water, fuel and visitor berths. Hamlet of Cabanes de Fleury 0.7 NM NW at the mouth of the Aude, with a few seasonal restaurants.
Ashore
Chichoulet beach runs directly behind the anchorage. Étang de Vendres wetland reserve lies inland, a Natura 2000 bird area. Cabanes de Fleury fishing hamlet, traditional wooden shacks on the Aude estuary, about 1 km by the coast path.
