Approach and anchoring
Entrance to the Ria d'Étel lies across a shifting sand bar; call the semaphore on VHF for the day's track. Inside the ria, tidal streams reach 4 knots on the springs. Seabed of algae-covered mud, moor rather than anchor if possible.
Practical
Water available on the pontoon. No fuel or shops on site. Port Niscop 1,8 nm south and Magouër 2,8 nm SW for further services. Village shops in Belz and Étel within 3 km by road.
Ashore
Saint-Cado chapel on its island in the ria, linked by a stone causeway, is a short dinghy trip upstream. Nichtarguér fisherman's cottage on its own islet is one of the most photographed sites of the ria.
