Tidal channel on the east coast of Île d'Oléron leading to the fishing and leisure harbour of Boyardville, opposite Fort Boyard.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

Narrow buoyed channel across the mudflats, accessible around high water only. Approach from the Pertuis d'Antioche, leaving Fort Boyard to the north. Strong tidal streams in the channel. Dries out at low water, moorings on pontoons upstream.

Practical

Port de Boyardville inside the channel, with visitor berths, water and electricity. Village shops, bakery and restaurants within 200 metres of the pontoons.

Ashore

Plage de Boyardville immediately north of the channel entrance. Forêt domaniale des Saumonards behind the dunes, with marked paths. Passenger ferry to Fort Boyard and Île d'Aix in season.
