Approach and anchoring
Enter from the Seudre river via the buoyed channel of the Chenal de Chatressac. The creek dries at low water of spring tides, plan entry within 2 hours of high water. Narrow channel bordered by oyster beds, hold the marks.
Practical
Sixty berths alongside wooden pontoons, mud bottom, boats take the ground. Water on the quay. Limited services, village of Chaillevette 1 km inland with bakery and grocery. Mornac-sur-Seudre, a fuller stopover, lies 1.9 nautical miles south-east.
Ashore
Working oyster cabins line the quay, many sell directly. Seudre cycle route on the former railway passes through Chaillevette. Mornac-sur-Seudre, listed among the Plus Beaux Villages de France, within walking distance along the old railway path.
