Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east or south-east, keeping clear of the rocks extending from the cape. The anchorage lies on the east side of the tombolo in fair weather, switch to the west side with easterlies. The site is part of the Conservatoire du Littoral and the Natura 2000 zone of the Corniche varoise. Cavalaire 4.6 nm west is the nearest all-weather shelter.
Practical
No services. Anchoring on sand between posidonia patches, use an eco-mooring buoy if available in season. Watch the regulated zone markings set by the Préfecture Maritime de Méditerranée.
Ashore
Coastal path running along the tombolo and around the cape, linking the beaches of Briande to the west and Escalet to the east. Plage de l'Escalet 1 km north, the closest road access and car park. The site is managed by the Conservatoire du Littoral since 1990.
