Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, staying clear of the 5 m contour along the shore. Bottom is sand mixed with Posidonia seagrass, so look for clear sand patches before dropping the hook. Anchoring on seagrass is banned by the Préfecture Maritime de Méditerranée. VHF 8.
Practical
About 20 moorings in the authorised zone. Water available. No other services on site. Nearest marinas at Port du Pilon and Saint-Tropez, both 2.3 NM to the northwest.
Ashore
Sentier du littoral runs along the shore towards Sainte-Maxime to the east and the Canoubiers bay to the west. Beaches of La Nartelle and La Garonnette within walking distance. Bus 7603 links Sainte-Maxime to Saint-Tropez.
Story
The Gulf of Saint-Tropez has been covered by a Zone de Mouillage et d'Équipements Légers since 2021 to protect the Posidonia meadows, with organised mooring fields replacing free anchoring in several sectors.
