Approach and anchoring
On the Intracoastal Waterway south of the Core Creek bridge, with deep water alongside. The yard hauls from a piered travel lift and has worked on more than 6,000 vessels.
Practical
An 85-ton travel lift with a 19-foot beam limit, backed by a 70-ton lift kept for emergency hauls. Topsides painting, fiberglass repair, marine carpentry, rigging and custom graphics. Boaters' lounge, laundry and showers on site, and owners may work on their own boats.
History
The yard was founded by Carl Bock Jr., who had spent his career in Norfolk shipyards. The firm moved to Core Creek in 1983 and bought its first travel lift, a 60-ton hoist, in 1988.
