Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Great Salt Pond through the marked channel from the west. Anchoring is permitted east of the main navigation channel, clear of the town mooring field and the fairways. The pond shelters from north, north-east, east and south-east winds. Call the harbourmaster on VHF channel 12.
Practical
Fresh water on site. Champlin's Marina lies 0.6 nautical miles to the south-west, with fuel and a haul-out. The town also maintains rental moorings from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, first come first served.
Ashore
The town centre of New Shoreham is a short walk or dinghy ride away, with shops, ferry links and the island's beaches. The North Light at Sandy Point and the bluffs at Mohegan Bluffs are reachable by bicycle, with hire available near the harbour.
