Approach and anchoring
An 8 ft channel runs from the Potomac into Monroe Bay, the deepest harbour between Washington and the entrance to Chesapeake Bay. The bay is sheltered, and it is a short run round the point back into the Potomac.
Practical
Some 39 berths for boats up to 50 ft with 4 ft draught. Mostly 30 amp and twin 30 amp shore power. Air-conditioned boathouses, a waterfront picnic area with grills, and ample parking.
Ashore
The walkable downtown is about one block away and the sandy beach about three blocks. On site, the Lighthouse Restaurant serves seafood and Thai food, and Los Hermanos Cantina serves Mexican.
