Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the main gulf channel by rounding the Pointe de Penhap. Strong tidal streams in the Golfe du Morbihan, up to 8 knots at spring tides, plan for slack water. The seabed includes rock and kelp, pick your spot on sand patches and check the set of the anchor after veering chain.
Practical
Anchor on sand in 3 to 6 metres at low water. Holding varies with the patches of rock and weed. Shelter from NW, N and W winds, exposed to S and SE. In southerly weather fall back to Kerners-Bilouris, 0.8 nm W, or Le Logeo, 1.2 nm S.
Ashore
Landing by tender on the Plage de Penhap. The coastal path of the Île aux Moines passes directly above the beach. The cromlech of Kergonan, a Neolithic stone horseshoe, is about 1 km inland north of the anse.
