Approach and anchoring

Enter the Gulf of Morbihan through the Grande Passe between Port-Navalo and Locmariaquer, watching for the strong tidal stream of up to 8 knots at springs. Work the current and anchor or pick up a free buoy in the cove. Sheltered from NE through E to SE, exposed to westerly winds blowing across the gulf.

Practical

Eight buoys, no services in the cove. Port-Blanc 1.1 NM to N with slipway and shops at Baden. Kerners-Bilouris 1.5 NM to S on the Arzon side with water and waste facilities. Ferry pontoon of Port-Blanc links Île-aux-Moines in a few minutes for provisioning.

Ashore

Coastal footpath of the Gulf of Morbihan runs along the shore. Village of Baden at 2 km inland with bakery, grocery and restaurants. Access by ferry from Port-Blanc to Île-aux-Moines, largest island of the gulf, with its chestnut grove and Bois d'Amour coastal walk.
