Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from the bay inside the Rickenbacker Causeway. The mud bottom gives good holding once the anchor is set. The spot is sheltered from N, NE and E winds but lies open to the south and west, so it is best left in a fresh sea breeze.
Practical
Rickenbacker Marina sits 0.2 nm to the west on Virginia Key and takes fuel and provisioning calls. Water is available there. The marina at Mary quay lies 1.3 nm to the NW.
Ashore
Virginia Key beach and the Miami Marine Stadium are within walking distance of Rickenbacker Marina. Downtown Miami and Brickell face the anchorage across the bay to the west.
