Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach is through the Freeport canal system off South Oyster Bay, inside the barrier of Jones Beach Island. Depths are limited and shoaling occurs, so check a recent chart and time the tide on a deeper draught vessel.
Practical
Indoor high and dry valet storage for 140 boats up to 40 feet, plus 150 floating berths with water and shore power. Factory-certified mechanics for Mercury, Yamaha and Volvo engines. Winter storage and boat sales on site.
History
Al Grover built the first enclosed marina on Long Island here in 1969. He later made the first outboard-powered crossing of the Atlantic in 1985.
