The any-tide harbours of the Atlantic coast, for heading south to Spain or north to Brittany in 25 to 40 mile legs: Pornichet, Pornic, L'Herbaudière, Port-Joinville, Saint-Gilles, Les Sables-d'Olonne, La Rochelle, Saint-Denis-d'Oléron, Royan, then Arcachon and Capbreton. Between La Rochelle and Royan, the Pertuis d'Antioche and the Gironde need a favourable tide.
