Ushant, Molène and Sein: the Iroise anchorages
8 lieux · North Finistère and Iroise
The three Iroise islands sit between two races: the Fromveur runs at 8 knots off Ushant, the Raz de Sein as much off Île de Sein. Lampaul on Ushant, the harbour of Molène and the Sein anchorage are on buoys or moorings, and none is tenable in a heavy westerly swell. Leave at slack water, in a north-easterly window, and keep Le Conquet or the Aber-Ildut as your fallback.
